Super Metro Limited has confirmed a fatal accident involving one of its buses yesterday, near Juja City Mall on the Thika Superhighway.

In a statement on Tuesday, the public service vehicle company said the incident involved a bus with registration number KCZ 358N.

According to the company, the crash occurred after a tuk-tuk ahead of the bus attempted to change lanes, forcing a motorcyclist overtaking at high speed to swerve.

“Unfortunately, the rider struck the pavement, fell, and was fatally injured by the bus. The rider passed away at the scene,” the statement read.

Police in Juja have launched investigations, with Super Metro pledging full cooperation.

The company has also conveyed condolences to the bereaved family and pledged to comply with all regulatory requirements while supporting the ongoing probe.
