The late Ol Kalou MP David Kiaraho's personal assistant, Muchina Nyaga, won yesterday's UDA party nominations.
Muchina, who is also a brother to Nyandarua County Assembly Majority Leader Mwangi Nyaga, garnered 3221 votes to beat eight other candidates.
He was closely followed by businessman Georget Wambugu, popularly known as 'Delight', who got 3077 votes.
Delight has contested for the seat three times, losing to the late MP Kiaraho.
Peter Mugo came third with 1049 votes, while the only lady contestant, Mary Nyokabi, garnered 406 votes.

Former Nyandarua Cec member Ndungu Wangenye came last after garnering 52 votes.
Muchina, in his speech, promised to serve the party and residents with dedication once elected.
"I want to promise the residents that I will fit into the shoes of the late former boss Kiaraho. I will not let the party down," he noted.
Nyandarua woman MP Faith Gitau congratulated him, terming him a youthful leader.
She said that the party will fully support him ahead of the by-elections set for July.
"We will mobilise all our resources to make sure that the party clinches the seat. The residents have decided, and it is now our turn as leaders to support him," she noted.
